Building our endowment in Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council is very important to the Scouting program.  Without it, we would not be able to maintain our programs over a long period of time.  Additionally, managing our endowment fund correctly allows the flexibility we need to survive during times of economic downturn.  It’s Smart Giving.

Visit our planned giving website for guidance on leaving your legacy: svmbclegacy.org

In recognition of your gift to our council endowment fund, Scouting offers 2 national awards in addition to membership in our local Heritage Society:

  • James E West available for gifts of $1,000 or more in cash, stocks or bonds to the council endowment fund.   Many of our James E. West Fellows are from tribute gifts in honor of spouses, Eagle Scouts, Scout Masters, and other mentors.   Who helped you through Scouting?  Recognition materials include a folio presentation, lapel pin, and a much-coveted knot to proudly wear as part of the uniform.
  • Second Century Society is for donors who make deferred or outright gifts greater than $25,000.  Commitments at this level can be made in a pledge, payable over 5 years.  Your gift can go to any of the 3 funds that support our youth- operating, capital or endowment.

Contributions can be made by an individual, group or organization.

To make a gift to our council, please contact Director of Development Heather Lerner at 408.638.8316 or heather.lerner@scouting.org.   We are looking forward to welcoming you to our Heritage Society!
